About Us

At The Inclusion Studio, we believe that real change comes from bringing different perspectives together. That’s why we work with a multidisciplinary team of experts with backgrounds in anthropology, sociology, communication, public administration and science. We also collaborate with knowledge institutions such as the University of Amsterdam, the ROC and the Vrije Universiteit. This combination enables us to approach complex issues around inclusion and diversity from multiple angles — and really make a difference.

Our team is diverse in the broadest sense of the word. We work with people of different genders, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, educational levels, religious or philosophical beliefs and neurological profiles. It is precisely these differences that provide the richness of our approach and the nuance of our methods.

We consciously choose not to present our team members with names and faces. Not because we don’t feel proud of it – on the contrary – but because we have noticed that people quickly take a superficial look at whether we are ‘diverse enough’ and who ‘belongs’. This sometimes leads to tokenism: reducing people to one visible characteristic. And that does not fit in with how we approach diversity and inclusion.

By being open about this in text, we want to show that we take responsibility for who we are and how we work. At the same time, we are not concerned with displaying identities, but with the power of collaboration between people with different experiences, insights and backgrounds.

At The Inclusion Studio, it is not about who we seem to be, but about what we make possible together.

The Story

Danny Sanders and Jade Wissink got to know each other in 2019, where they both worked as civil servants for the municipality of Amsterdam. There, they also promoted inclusion and diversity: Jade has set up a network for women in construction and Danny was involved in organizing the municipal participation in the Pride. They connected with each other in these themes. From this joint drive, they started The Inclusion Studio.
